When you present a webinar in the future, it will most likely go wrong. It will happen. Some technical problem will happen during your live feed, and you should be able to be prepared for it. You can be prepared by: practicing your webinar, restarting your computer before you decide to present, and have a standby computer that is ready in case you need it.
There have been past presenters that have presented webinars, and have been totally unprepared for it, by either being late, trying to run their presentation and realizing that it wouldn't start. These problems can all be avoided, if the person that was presenting rehearsed what they were going to do. The webinars that present without practicing find themselves in these situation, because they haven't set up their equipment earlier to see if it actually works. Practice what you want to say, practice on your equipment ahead of time, and you will be better off for it.
Restarting your computer, before you present your webinar can be of a great help to you. This prevents the computer from crashing as all the programs will be closed, as you have just turned on your computer. When you are presenting on a webinar, have all other programs closed that you are not going to use as they can be distracting while you are presenting. You need to be focused on what you are doing when you are presenting live, as other people will be watching.
If your computer does crash or something goes wrong, these unfortunate instances are out of your control. You may have problems with your Internet, and there isn't much that you can do about it. There are other ways of still continuing your webinar by switching lines on your Internet connection if you have that option. If your computer happens to crash, and you are waiting for it to restart go to the standby computer, as that is why it is there to help you when this happens. You can continue presenting on your second computer, while your main computer is starting up. Another great reason for having a second computer, is you can join in on the second one, and see what the guest are seeing as well. By doing this, if something isn't viewing right you can fix it straightaway, as you are seeing what the audience is seeing.
These are the ways you can plan for your technical problems in the future webinar's: First you need to practice, restart and reboot before you start, and have a backup plan ready to go. Be the teacher, and the one that has the expertise in what you are presenting.
